Store Designs

Today I was checking some designs blogs and I found this incredible post about Cupcake shops. And you will wonder what is amazing about this shops right? Well they put at work one of the marketing theories of the past decade: we are emotional buyers.

It happens to me all the time, you go down the street looking for a coffee shop where to spend the afternoon with some friends,  you won’t choose the one with best coffee but the one that looks more comfortable, cute or that has a relaxed atmosphere, won’t you?

And with this cupcake shops the feeling is similar, you will look at the pictures and wonder where are the shops, because you immediately want to try them. Or maybe you are walking down the street and pass through one of these shops and before you even realize it you will be buying a super expensive cupcake that maybe is the brother of those $1 cupcakes you find at the deli next to your place.

But that’s normal, because the catch of this shops aren’t the cupcakes itself but the brand, the ambient, the feelings you get when you spend your afternoon there with friends or the super cute box where you carry the cupcakes on. And if the cupcakes are good, well that’s always a plus.

(designed by Savvy)

This cupcake shop is probably the most impressive one. I will like to go just to admire the shop.

(designed by the owners)

This shop is not as “cute” or maybe as well designed as the last one but it clearly has a “hipster” feeling, vintage, that is actually really in right now, you can see it on the Pac-man menu, or the old Mac around the shop, or by simply looking at the Comic Strips chairs.  Half of the New York coffee shops are similar to this French cupcake shop.

This shop has a refine taste into it. It doesn’t have a risky design as ciocolatto, but is fresh and new and everything from the lamps, to the colors of the walls and the stools are a perfect match with each other.

(design by Johnny Cupcakes)

Johnny Cupcakes is not only a cupcake shop with Geek motives in the store and the cupcakes, it also has a history. Johnny a college drop-out started a T-shirt brand with cool cupcakes in it. His designs spread quickly on the web creating a strong brand really popular with college kids.  Even now his t-shirts are sold in bakerys mode shop instead of your regular T-shirt shop. And from time to time he even bake some cupcakes.
