What’s the story Morning Glory¿?

New Portraits pictures, the light was really diffuse and she was been working for a couple of hours, so we sit on the set and started taking pictures. I never worked with this background and in black and white it actually worked pretty well.

She’s a super hero

I did a beauty shoot last tuesday with a really beautiful models and a great makeup artist.

In this serie the model is Laura Volpacchio and the makeup artist is Emanuel Garcia.

The edition is quite Sin City style, I thought it really fits with her.

Rose Hantée

Hice una sesión de fotos el sábado pasado para una amiga que esta estudiando moda y confección. Necesitaba las imágenes para presentar los cuatro vestidos que había diseñado y confeccionado como proyecto final.

Los vestidos estaban inspirados en la película de Disney La Bella y la Bestia y todos tienen en común una rosa en el conjunto, la colección se llama Rose Hantée espero que os guste.

Los diseños son de Marta Font.

I made a photo session last Saturday for a friend, Marta Font. She is studying fashion and dressmaking and she needed some photos to present four dresses she had designed and made up as a final project.

The dresses were inspired by Disney movie Beauty and the Beast and in they all have a rose in the dress in common. The collection is called Rose Hantée. I hope you like it.

At the end of the session we made a picture of all the models together and another one with the designer.

Books

A couple of weeks ago I did a fashion editorial for a bookclub in the United States.

The editorial was meant to be a number of pictures with a female model and books. She was supposed to interact with the books not just in the normal way like reading, but each one of the image has to have the books and she with a fashion outfit. An each one must be different.

We made the editorial in an urban space in Barcelona, a square  near the beach. We had the common issue of photographing outdoors: the sun, in some images it was too hard, in anothers too hide and of course after 5 o’clock of the afternoon it was gone. We also have trouble with all the material because we had to let it in the middle of the street, and some issues about where the model would change and make-up. We’re lucky in that aspect because a restaurant in the same square let us to use the invalid toilet as a make-up changing room.

At the end the session was really good and I really enjoyed.

I took mostly of the photos helped by David Company. The model, Anna Alsius, I already worked with her and is always a pleasure to do it. The same thing happens with the make-up artist, Carmina Camps. I’m always happy to work with such a great group of people!

While the makeup artist was doing her job I took a couple of shoots with my fisheye film camara about the place we’re shooting on: Barceloneta market

“Naranguitos y sus colegas” as they call themselves. Actually they’re a group of young musicians that love jazz and play it  in their free time in Terrassa.

An studio shoot about christmas dresses, it was really difficult to took the photos in a really slow time and with so less light just for trying to caught the lights!

Of course it was even more difficult because the models arrived late and just 2 of them(we are 4 groups so we need 4 models). That inconvenient forced us to shoot an editorial in less than 2 hours!

And of course the edit part was again hard ’cause everything needed a different edit: the background, the model, the dress, the lights, …

Finally this was the result: 4 photos that I don’t love it but i don’t dislike either.

At least we learn how to shoot and edit with slow time and low light and how to manage the time for a shooting!
