X-ray photography

They say that photography is the art of reproducing an image, with any media necessary. Well it seems like Nick Veasy took this pretty serious and he build his portfolio with pictures of people, machines, and flowers all seen via an x-ray machine.

Is an image good enough?

Is an image good enough? Can it reproduce a feeling all by itself?

Carlos Herra seems to think different, his photography is good by itself but when he combines it with sharp and precise phrases and good typography it seems to give them more power more meaning.

I’m a firm believer than a great picture doesn’t need anything else and it’s probably that this technique just work for him, for his image, but the fact is that it works at least for the images below.

Daily Inspiration – light

In photography, light is the only power. Only by light and photosensitive materials or sensors react, the camera can produce images. Light itself has often been elected to do the object being photographed, to become the center of the screen in different forms.

Daily Inspiration – People

Portraits, they seem really easy sometimes and mostly photographers only concentrates on the light, the background, edit, etc An if you are a Fashion photographer is so usually to see photos where the model has the same expression over and over again, because the most important thing are the clothes right?
Well yes, but a portrait is much more than Fashion or lighting, and when i found those pictures of Håkon Borg, I thought I should share them.

They are powerful, not for the colours or for the light, despite the fact that he use a good lighting; they are powerful for the expression of each subject. It’s unique and real, and I like that.

Blue fisheye and blue

¡New Photo Shoot!

In this new one shoot the model is Britt Lower and the makeup artist is Emmanuel García.

The shoot was made with a low key light idea, the key light is behind the model at her left and the light bounces into a white reflector in front of the model at her right.

Light set up

I exposed the aperture towards her face, the bounce light, and let the key light to be overexposed.

In the edition process I saturated the eye shadow and the background and give it her different DOF for the hair and movement and some colors to the blacks.

¿What do you Think?
